General

If you have hospitalisation insurance from one of our member insurers (AGF, Assurance Fédérale, Ethias, Fidea, ING Insurance, KBC Verzekeringen, Mercator, Swisslife), your insurer may have supplied you with your personal AssurCard. You can declare a hospitalisation with this card.

You will find the list of member hospitals by clicking on ‘Member hospitals’ at the top of this screen.

The role of your insurance company

As soon as you know you are to be hospitalised, you must notify your insurer. After you have answered a number of questions, he will decide whether you are entitled to use the advances system to pay the costs of your hospital stay

In some cases it is possible that additional information will be requested.

  • Your insurer will provide you with a medical form that your treating doctor is to fill in.
  • You return the completed document to your insurance company’s supervising doctor as quickly as possible.

Only the insurer then decides whether the additional information is sufficient to apply the third-party payment system or not. Neither AssurCard nor the hospital can decide this.

Which insurers offer the AssurCard?
