Depending on your insurer you can declare a hospitalisation in three ways:
- Via the AssurCard kiosk in the hospital: A terminal where a declaration can be passed can be found in most Belgian hospitals.
For information: a declaration can be submitted from any hospital with a kiosk for hospitalisation in a different hospital. You simply have to ensure that you enter the correct hospital when choosing your hospital.
- Via the Internet: You can register your admission immediately by clicking on "declare a hospitalisation" at the top of the screen. In the meantime, keep your card close at hand.
- By telephone: Depending on your insurance company it is possible to declare your hospitalisation by phone. You then go through a number of questions with the operator. Based on the answers your insurer decides whether he will advance your hospital bills.
When you have completed this procedure you no longer have to go to the kiosk in the hospital.
